World Cinema Day at the BRAID Arts Centre at the Ecos Centre!

Mid and East Antrim Council are offering you not one but TWO chances to celebrate World Cinema
Day 2019!!!
 
Info Film is a British Educational Charity that runs film based programmes for children aged five to
nineteen. They are bring the 1988 Tom Hanks classic BIG to the Braid Arts Centre on Monday the 26th
of August.
BIG is a 1988 American fantasy comedy film directed by Penny Marshall, and stars Tom Hanks as
Adult Josh Baskin, a young boy who makes a wish “to be big” and is then aged to adulthood
overnight. The film also stars Elizabeth Perkins, David Moscow as young Josh, John Heard and Robert
Loggia, and was written by Gary Ross and Anne Spielberg. 
 
ALSO, Bring the family and the ‘Big’ kid in you and test your musical skills and footwork by recreating an iconic scene from ‘Big’ on our keyboard floor mat!
Tickets are FREE and available via the Braid Website!
Later the very same day The Braid Film team are running a screening of Steven Spielberg’s EMPIRE OF THE SUN with a live choir boy intro at Ecos Centre Ballymena.
 
EMPIRE OF THE SUN is a 1987 American epic coming-of-age war film based on J. G. Ballard’s semi-autobiographical novel of the same name. It was directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Christian Bale, John Malkovich, Miranda Richardson and Nigel
Havers.
 
The film tells the story of Jamie “Jim” Graham, a young boy who goes from living in a wealthy British family in Shanghai, to becoming a prisoner of war in a Japanese internment camp, during World War II.
